15 Weeks (or this little light of mine)

I guess I haven't updated you on what's going on with me lately. My headaches have gone away (thank goodness!), my acne is worsening and I can tell that, probably by the end of this month, I will 100% be in maternity clothes. I'm ok with this since I got some great stuff for Christmas and took advantage of AWESOME sales recently. It was fun! I love a good bargain. Also, the sight in my right eye is way worse than it used to be. I have read that it's normal but will ask my doc on the 11th just to be sure.

I have come to realize that I too can write a pregnancy book. Just think of the strangest, ugliest, most uncomfortable symptoms and then blame them all on hormones. Done!

My book tells me that I really need to begin sleeping on my side - no more stomach and back business - SO sad about this! I LOVE sleeping on my stomach! So, insert tons of pillows and Beau jokes that he will soon be banished to the guest bedroom ;-) I am now beginning the ever-so-difficult journey of training Shelby to no longer walk on my stomach. She is so co-dependent and I have always let her walk anywhere she wants so this is tough. I know that it's fine, there are tons of pregos with a 2 or 3 or 4 year old climbing on their belly every day so I know she's not harming me but it's just uncomfortable for me. This will be a long process - wish me luck!

How your baby's growing:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")
